KARLA ROJO MÉNDEZ
Jose Antonio is cofounder of Ceg Legal, S.C., and member of the corporate and aviation law team of the firm.
Through his career, Jose Antonio has developed his practice in the field of corporate law and contracts, as well as aviation law. He has advised foreign and Mexican entities and individuals on a broad range of matters, including cross border and domestic transactions, trust agreements, joint venture deals, secured loans, mergers and acquisitions with a multijurisdictional approach, due diligence processes and real estate contracts.
Jose Antonio focuses on finding legal solutions for his clients to do business in Mexico successfully.
Jose Antonio has actively advised foreign and Mexican entities as well as investors in their business activities, which include:
a) Joint venture agreements to incorporate new entities in Mexico or to broaden existing business operations.
b) Credit and loan agreements secured with pledges, mortgages or trust agreements.
c) Incorporation, conversion, merger, liquidation, capitalization, dividend distribution and corporate restructuring of entities in Mexico.
d) Due diligence processes in connection with the merger or acquisitions of companies in Mexico.
e) Supply agreements of aeronautic components to Mexican carriers.
f) Transactions relating to the construction, expansion and lease of industrial plants in Mexico.
g) Shareholders and partners agreements protecting minority rights.
Professional and academic background
Jose Antonio earned his law degree from the Autonomous University of Queretaro under the choice of excellence GPA.
He holds a master’s degree in advanced studies in air and space law from Leiden University in the Netherlands.
Jose Antonio studied the Columbia Summer Program in American Law from Columbia University in partnership with Leiden University and Amsterdam University.
He also holds a master’s degree in law and pursued a postgraduate program in corporate law from the Autonomous University of Queretaro, among other studies.
Jose Antonio has taken several courses, including a program in business contracts at the Barra Mexicana Colegio de Abogados; a program on the translation of legal texts in English at the Escuela Libre de Derecho and a program on business development at the Autonomous University of Queretaro.
Jose Antonio likes to participate in academic and business activities. He regularly lectures on corporate and aviation law.
Before founding Ceg Legal, S.C., Jose Antonio worked for several years in a top law firm in Mexico and did an internship in a leading Dutch law firm in the corporate and aviation law team.
He is an active member of Coparmex Queretaro, the National Association of Business Lawyers, Queretaro Chapter, as well as of other business organizations.
Jose Antonio has been an author of papers and articles published in specialized magazines and journals.
Nicolas graduated as an attorney at law with honors from the Technological University of Mexico.
He is the head partner of labor consulting and litigation on social security of the firm.
Through his career of more than fifteen years of experience as labor and social security lawyer, he has been involved in the design and implementation of legal strategies both in preventing and defending his clients’ interests.
Before founding Ceg Legal, S.C., Nicolas was an associate in the labor and social security teams of two of the most recognized law firms in the country. Also, he held positions in the Federal Court of Administrative Justice.
He has been regarded by the Representative Commission before Organs of Social Security of the Mexican Institute of Public Accountants as one of the leading lawyers in Mexico in social security.
He is a member of the tax and labor commission of Coparmex, Queretaro, and has participated in various forums on tax and social security matters. He has written important articles published in magazines such as HR Magazine, Practica Fiscal and Puntos Finos.
Karla Rojo Méndez
Karla Rojo Méndez is an associate at Ceg Legal, S.C., and member of the corporate law team of the firm.
Through her career, she has developed her practice in the field of corporate law, contracts, intellectual property, and election law. Her main activities include assisting the clients of the firm on the incorporation of entities, as well as on reviewing and drafting contracts. Karla also reviews and drafts corporate documents of Mexican entities.
Professional and academic background
She graduated as an attorney at law from the National Autonomous University of Mexico in 2016.
She has a Diploma on a Business Law program from the Law School of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in 2019.
She has taken several courses, which include:
